Position Overview
MultiState is seeking an experienced professional (3-5 years of relevant experience) to join our growing association management practice. The Director of Association Management is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the various associations and coalitions managed by MultiState, ensuring their ongoing success and value to members. This role involves administrative leadership, financial oversight, membership engagement, policy development support, and event coordination. To be successful in this role, you will need strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
As Director of Association Management, you will:
Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple associations and coalitions with different objectives, resources, and organizational structures.
Support and facilitate Board review of annual goals and objectives, and help develop policies and procedures.
Ensure adequate communications among Board members, general membership, and other involved parties.
Oversee the associations’ finances and assist the Board in developing an annual budget.
Manage programs within budget guidelines and oversee the preparation of regular financial statements and membership analyses.
Work with the accounting team to maintain association bank accounts, reconcile statements, and provide reports to the Board Treasurer.
Review monthly financials for accuracy and assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
Work with an independent auditor contracted by the Board to review financials.
Maintain and enhance the associations’ websites, membership directories, and management software.
Disseminate regular newsletters, including member news and relevant trends.
Develop and run webinars on pertinent issues.
Maintain an organized library of policy issues of interest, research, and supporting materials.
Disseminate issue profiles, talking points, and other pertinent information.
Coordinate all association programming as needed and manage meetings onsite.
To be successful, you will need:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
A minimum of two years’ relevant work experience working for an association or similar organization.
The ability to write clearly, concisely, and expeditiously.
The ability to juggle multiple projects at once and deliver under tight deadlines
Proven ability to operate with integrity and ethics, and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
High level of detail and demonstrated work output with little/no errors.
Sense of urgency; willingness and ability to meet and exceed established deadlines.
Organizational agility and be a team player.
