CLIENT ASSOCIATIONS: Women’s Dermatologic Society, WDS POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Director, WDS EXEMPT/NON?EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW The Women's Dermatologic Society, founded in 1973, is dedicated to helping dermatologists fulfill their greatest potential and assisting them in making a contribution to our specialty and society. To achieve this goal, the Society relies on the active participation of its members, who represent a diverse cross-section of professional sub-specialties. The mission of WDS is to empower and connect women dermatologists through personal and professional development, mentorship, service and leadership.
POSITION OVERVIEW (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week): Oversees committee management including Membership, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, RFYP (Resident, Fellow and Young Physician), International Sections and others as assigned; Administers all aspects of Play Safe and TIPP Shelter Initiative programs; Manages successful implementation of various projects including membership management, serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries pertaining to the Society’s membership; and other initiatives as assigned; and providing support to the Executive Director.
Committees
Serve as staff liaison to assigned committee(s), collaborating with committee chair(s), arranging meetings, and providing regular updates to committee chair(s); Specifically: Membership, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, RFYP (Resident, Fellow and Young Physician), International Sections, Community Service & Public Education, and others as assigned;
Manage administrative functions and processes related to WDS Community Service programs including Play Safe in the Sun, Coast-2-Coast; and shelter initiatives, including but not limited to in-person attendance, inventory of product and educational materials;
Implement registration process for relevant events, in-person and virtual;
Manage Summer Research and UIM Resident Aesthetic Mentorship programs;
Manage DEI initiatives and other projects
Membership
Directs and manages all aspects of membership management, including:
Processing of membership applications and annual dues renewal processing and invoicing;
Maintain membership database changes and management, report creation, website updates;
Creation of monthly membership reports for the Board/Executive Committee and Membership Committee;
Staff Membership Committee to develop effective strategies for membership recruitment and retention;
Assist in development of member satisfaction and exit surveys, as needed.
Work with EDI Information Services Dept. for data entry and reports;.
Support Executive Director and other staff with membership related functions such as general letters and other communications;
Answer informational calls regarding membership
Development of promotional materials for membership and other WDS opportunities
Donations and Fundraising campaigns (not sponsorship)
Other
Attend related society events to assist onsite as needed
Perform duties as required to assist the Executive Director in implementing the Strategic Plan developed by the Board of Directors.
Other duties as assigned.
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Approximately 1-2 weeks per year; some weekend and evening work will be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1-3 years’ experience in program management, marketing, or communications related positions. Previous association management experience and familiarity with nonprofit boards of directors a plus
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a small team environment
Ability to prioritize varied assignments and handle multiple projects.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (lifting, packaging, etc.)
Minimal lifting required. Occasional lifting, up to 50 lbs. Ability to move quickly within meeting facilities.
*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
