Basic Function: The Director, Education oversees the development and delivery of CFMA’s educational content including the establishment of short-range plans and objectives within the scope of CFMA-wide policies and common goals and aligned with CFMA strategy. The Director, Education oversees and supervises the following functions and associated staff.
Delivery of our live courses and webinars.
Delivery of our on-demand education and content.
Review and maintenance of our education content and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) oversight.
Development of our annual conference content.
Reports To: Vice President, Knowledge & Practice
Specific Responsibilities:
Duties to include but are not limited to:
Work independently as well as with internal departments and external vendors, chapters, and stakeholders to oversee the development and delivery of educational content by CFMA and lead project teams of SMEs, Staff, and Stakeholders as required.
Oversee the creation of proposals, timetables, and budget requirements for educational development projects; manage vendors, and SMEs.
Conduct learning needs analyses with the CFMA Leadership, and other stakeholders, which includes member and non-member analyses, content analyses, and task analyses as it relates to education.
Support the content related to CFMA’s Certification Programs.
Provide educational support to fulfill the needs of CFMA’s vertical segments (CPA Firms, General Contractors, Specialty Trade Contractors, Heavy Construction Contractors, Residential Contractors, and others as identified in CFMA’s strategic plan.)
Select and use a variety of techniques for determining educational content and delivery including the Education Decision Matrix and apply Adult Learning Principles that follow the ADDIE model, or others, when applicable.
Provide training expertise and serve as Staff Co-Chair to CFMA’s Education Steering Committee, Task Forces, and other volunteer group assignments as needed.
Work with the Vice President of Member Engagement to interface with other industry and non-industry associations to provide co-sponsorship educational opportunities.
Ensure through various and future methods that CFMA has capable instructors and SME content developers for all current and future offerings.
Provide direction and oversight to the development, use and maintenance of CFMA’s Speaker/Subject Matter Expert (SME) database.
Ensure that CFMA’s sponsorship of accredited courses remains updated with NASBA/ CCIFP and other specific state boards of accountancy. Oversee CPE support to local chapters.
Partner with the various staff to provide educational resources to chapters through communication and various tools that assist them in being a primary educational resource to local members.
Design, deliver, support, and coordinate educational experiences for CFMA’s annual conference, e.g., mini-conferences or break-out sessions.
Develop the overall goals and strategy for the CFMA Annual Conference & Exhibition as it relates to the content of the meeting.
Special projects assigned by the Vice President, Knowledge & Practice, President & CEO and other CFMA committees.
Serve as the staff co-chair to the Conference Program Committee:
Select the content and other engagement for the conference attendees and stakeholders as it relates to the programming.
Partnering with the Volunteer Co-chair in planning the goals and setting overall direction for the committee.
Developing and approving the agenda and materials to be provid
d for each meeting.
Prepare the Executive Committee Reports and support the Executive Committee Liaison to the Conference Program Committee in providing those reports.
Develops policy and procedures around the review and selection of all the conference content and speakers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or equivalent.
At least five years of experience designing and/or developing learning for adults.
Highly organized, able to perform multiple tasks, balance priorities, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
