The Executive Director of the New York County Medical Society:
— is fully responsible to and executes the policies of the Board of Directors, to whom the Executive Director reports;
— is staff leader of the New York County Medical Society’s three employees;
— manages and directs all activities of the Society as prescribed by the Board of Directors;
— designs and implements plans to fulfill he Society’s mission as linked to the budget;
— serves as Executive Director of Society subsidiary organizations and two other specialty societies administered y the Society.
Responsibilities include:
— providing leadership for a membership organization of 1,000 physicians who live or work in Manhattan;
— developing and managing all aspects of an organization with an annual budget of $571,000;
— developing membership;
— overseeing the physical office and its administration;
— overseeing the Society’s communication operations, including website, e–newsletters, social media and other messages to the membership;
— working with endorsed Society vendors to provide marketing opportunities to the membership.
The Society is looking for someone who is able to manage and work with leadership with divergent points of view. The candidate should be organized and capable of focusing on strategic goals. The ideal candidate is a good communicator, organized, and pays attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in healthcare or working with physicians is a plus. CAE is a plus.
