Role
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help us grow our membership, build relationships and sell products and services. You will serve as one of ACMP’s forward facing sales and development professionals and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective business development strategy. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
Develop a growth strategy focused both on membership growth and financial gain
Maintain current relationships and conduct research to identify new markets, potential targets and customer needs
Develop and lead a sponsorship sales strategy and all sponsorship sales
Work with meetings and events team to design and execute sponsorship and exhibit recognition packages and lead the sales process and follow up support, as necessary, including virtual events, in person conferences, annual conference, webinars, and other education as developed.
Manage sales process for conference-related sponsorship items and exhibit hall bookings, including managing inquiries, special requests, invitations, letters of agreement and exhibitor applications.
Maintain conference sales reports and communicate necessary deliverables with events team
Ensure accuracy of sponsor recognition on various platforms (i.e. website, program books, event signage, etc)
Provide on-site exhibit and sponsor management for the annual conference when in-person
Proactively recruit and support Corporate Partners and Education Providers, especially in markets and verticals we are not currently servicing, to help reach our goals.
Provide targeted and sustained partner outreach and relationship management, including pipeline and potential leads and opportunities
Maintain all records (pipeline, sales, contracts, invoices) on the CRM.
Provide after-sales support
Build relationships and communicate regularly with Corporate Partners and Education Providers
Oversee the application process for new partners and drive continuous improvement
Present and facilitate training sessions and informational webinars.
Develop, maintain, and update partner guides, forms, tools and collateral materials together with marketing.
Collect and assess partner feedback and identify areas of improvement
Collaborate with other departments on related projects.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills
Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
Association and/or non-profit experience preferred
Proven sales and sponsorship track record
Experience in customer support is a plus
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
Proficiency in English
Knowledge of Change Management, a plus
Communication and negotiation skills
Ability to build rapport
Time management and planning skills
