The Society for American Archaeology is the preeminent organization for the study of archaeology of the Americas. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team to ensure organization maximizes its Association Management Software (iMIS).
Position objectives
Oversees quality and up-to-date data on members, potential members, and customers
Collaborates with Senior Manager, Meetings and Membership in managing the membership database and outputs
Responsible for creating processes and procedures to improve segmentation of members and better manipulation of our data
Teams with Associate, Member Engagement as a cross-trained partner to ensure smooth administrative operations and prompt assistance to members
The SAA is a collegial small but mighty team, mostly working remotely but always collaboratively to provide members with high quality programs and services.
Required skills
Detailed oriented and able to enter and correct data with accuracy
Comfortable with member databases and able to identify ways to segment data, clean up confusing data, produce data reports, and improve the Society’s workflows through the Association Management Software (e.g., iMIS)
Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; comfortable with marketing software programs (e.g. Constant Contact), online survey tools (e.g. Survey Monkey), and online data forms (e.g. Google Forms) and data reports
Able to lift 40 pounds and stand on feet for extended periods of time
Able to pick up mail two times per week
Required background
2-3 years database experience, working on data entry, data integrity, and/or data reporting
SAA is an international organization that, since its founding in 1934, has been dedicated to the research about and interpretation and protection of the archaeological heritage of the Americas. With more than 7,500 members, SAA represents professional archaeologists in colleges and universities, museums, government agencies, and the private sector. SAA has members in all 50 states as well as many other nations around the world.
