Job Description
As a member of the Senior Executive Team, the Deputy Executive Director provides oversight and direction in the strategic planning, goal setting, program outcomes, and performance measurement for Administrative Solutions, which consists of a variety of divisions and units that support Colorado Department of Human Services’ program staff. These divisions include Legal, Facilities Management, Business Innovation, Technology and Security, Emergency Management, Performance Management, Audit, Quality Assurance, Administrative Review Division, the Office of Appeals, Records Retention, CORA, and Privacy and Security.
The Administrative Solutions Deputy Executive Director develops tools and systems to provide critical operational information to the CDHS Executive Director, as well as implements actions related to strategic direction for these functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
AND
Experience:Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience leading a large, complex organization that must have included at least:
Two (2) years of experience successfully leading and supervising subordinate managerial staff
Two (2) years of professional public or business administration experience that included establishing organization structure, developing strategic work plans, budget development and control, setting goals and objectives to achieve program results, and fostering a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional depth and breadth of job-related experience beyond the minimum qualifications above
Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes using resources similar to those managed by this position
Relevant experience with the State of Colorado.
Conditions of Employment:
This position will require a standard background check.
This position is required to travel, sometimes over multiple days, to perform job duties.
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify whether or not they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Employees who have not been fully vaccinated may be required to submit to serial testing in the future. Upon hire, new employees will have thirty (30) business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination. Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, as defined by the most recent State of Colorado’s Public Health Order and current guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
