The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier urologic association providing support to the urologic community, is currently searching for a Research Grants Coordinator position in our Office of Research.
This position will have the possibility to telecommute up to 3 days a week.
In General
This position provides administrative and project management support as well as elements of program leadership to the American Urological Association (AUA) Office of Research (OR) portfolio of mentored urologic research grants, investigator support programs, and research awards of distinction. The candidate will support the Research Grants Manager with activities associated with research grants governance committees including the Research Grants and Investigator Support Committee (RGISC), grant and award selection panels, task forces, and workgroups as needed. The candidate will also provide department support for other research programs and events as needed to meet strategic goals and contribute to advancing the research mission of the AUA.
Typically
The individual in this position will:
- Contribute to project management for the broad spectrum of research grant and investigator support programs aimed at supporting urologic researchers
- Provide support in liaising with the AUA Research Grants and Investigator Support Committee (RGISC) and affiliated task forces or workgroups including scheduling, development of agendas and minutes and communications with members
- Coordinate and collaborate with other AUA departments regarding program financial tasks (such as invoice and payment processing, tracking / reconciliation and budget preparation)
- Maintain and enhance databases of key external audiences (e.g., grant applicants, awardees, reviewers, committee members)

To be Successful
Candidates must be collaborative while working in a fast-paced team environment. It is essential that the individual in this role be mission driven, results-oriented and excellent interpersonal skills. In addition:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a field related to biomedical or health science.
- Minimum of three years of experience in program management and/or project management, preferably in a professional medical or science association.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, travel to AUA Annual Meeting, and participate in 1-3 evening conference calls per month.
- Experience with application management software (e.g., Open Water, Proposal Central, other) preferred
- Appetite to pursue professional learning and growth in research administration.
- Previous experience with research grant and/or honorific awards administration highly desirable
- Customer-service oriented disposition.
