The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA), an organization located in Alexandria, VA representing independent insurance agents in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team.
NOTE: This is a hybrid position, working both in the office and remotely.
The Manager of Membership & Affiliate Services has a unique opportunity to coordinate and oversee membership and managed-affiliate activities and operations with a particular focus on PIA national-only members and affiliates managed by PIA National. This position collaborates and works directly with the Senior Director of Membership & Affiliate Services.
Membership Focus
Provide general administrative support to Senior Director on projects and tasks related to PIA National members and managed affiliates.
- Being first point of contact for members and prospects which may include questions about membership, renewals, and benefits.
- Follow up with prospects and develop system for tracking prospects.
- Assist with processing new member applications, membership renewal notices and applicable invoices.
- Designs and implements comprehensive membership campaigns that:
- Showcase the value and return-on-investment of PIA membership
- Solicit new membership in PIA
- Renew existing PIA members
- Manage member data
- Develops and creates engaging membership marketing emails and materials which include social media, thank you letters, renewals, web content, and special marketing materials as needed.
- Develops and coordinates communications to segments of PIA membership including articles and emails.
- Develops and coordinates with outsourced graphic designer or creates on Canva social media and/or print pieces as needed.
- Provides feedback from conversations with members and suggests new processes or programs that align with specialized needs of member segments.
- Troubleshoot membership system issues as they arise, including working with third-party vendors such as Higher Logic and Impexium.
- Collect data, track membership and affiliate services statistics, and prepare reports.
- Other membership activities as assigned.
Affiliate Services Focus
Provide general administrative support to Senior Director on projects and tasks related to affiliates managed by PIA National.
- State affiliate management support for affiliate’s managed by PIA National.
- Manages administrative Board of Directors and committee needs such as setting meetings and coordinating new and ongoing projects.
- Volunteer management and engagement with affiliate board of directors, committees, strategic partners, and sponsors.
- Work with leadership and staff to implement committees’ deliverables on time and within budget. Provide guidance, as necessary.
- Oversee proper distribution of communications to PIA members within managed states including website updates.
- Works with senior management to develop, market and manage educational offerings.
- Manage or coordinate strategic partners and sponsorship activities.
- Oversees outsourced functions (as necessary).
- Provide recurring reports as directed.
- Processes invoices and coordinates with accounting for managed affiliated states.
- Provide ideas and suggestions for operational efficiencies to enhance the affiliate services management experience.
- Provides input for financial planning for membership & affiliate services department as it relates to the goals of the department.
- Perform all other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-6 years association experience with an emphasis on membership
- A strong initiative and attention to detail are a must
- Ability to facilitate and moderate meetings
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong writing, grammar and editing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Able to work independently
- Superior customer service skills
- A proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects through hands-on project management simultaneously is necessary.
- Candidate must be able to manage projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight
- Excellent technology skills are a must (Microsoft Office), with desired experience with: Microsoft Teams, Canva, Impexium, Real Magnet, GoToWebinar, Hootsuite, and html.
- Second language (Spanish) a plus
- Ability to travel 2-3 times per year.
