The Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) is currently seeking a Director, Membership Outreach & Engagement to strengthen and grow membership. The position is responsible for the overall recruitment, retention, and strategies related to growing membership under the direction of the HFSA Chief Operating Officer.

Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Actively seek out new members through identifying prospects and, in coordination with the Director of Marketing & Communication, develop targeted marketing strategies
- Create renewal campaign with good timing, convenience for members and increased retention rates
- Identify “at risk” members and strategize with the HFSA team to determine appropriate initiatives to retain members
- Successfully meet and/or exceed recruitment and retention goals set for HFSA
- Design and manage member benefit programs that create real value, promote programs through the membership, and track member program usage and engagement
- Develop and strengthen relationships with members by ensuring they are receiving HFSA communications and identifying areas of interest/need so they can be aligned appropriately with HFSA events, committees and communications
- Monitor and share information gained through member engagement with other departments to improve the quality and uptake of education programs, the Annual Scientific Meeting and other programs
- Track weekly retention and recruitment statistics
- Maintain and update member information in HFSA’s AMS Impexium
- Oversee HFSA’s online member community by managing the administration of the platform and serving as the online community engagement strategist, providing input and spearheading best practice initiatives to grow member and staff engagement
- Serve as staff liaison and provide leadership for the Membership Committee and Patient Committee
- Other duties as required

- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Prior professional society or association experience is preferred
- Experience working with membership databases and use of analytics to track growth and retention
- Strong analytical skills and ability to provide recommendations based on insights
- Knowledge of social media and private online communities is a plus
- Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated project management skills
