We are looking for a bright, flexible, and detail-oriented editor to support our team. Excellent writing and grammar are a must as is the ability to spot formatting issues (e.g., spacing, font style and size, layout inconsistencies, etc.). To best support our team, we seek an editor with either an existing familiarity with our profession or a willingness and ability to learn about it.
The Editor Position supports our Training and Certifications team which generates resources, including articles, white papers, case studies, webinars, training, and content and programming for ARMA’s annual conference.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Edit content created by our Education, Publications, and Certifications team, including articles, white papers, case studies, webinars, training, and content and programming for ARMA’s annual conference.
Edit content created by volunteers, speakers, and business partners as required in support of the Education, Publications, and Certifications team.
Support marketing efforts by drafting and editing communications, marketing materials, and newsletters in support of the Training and Certifications team. In this role, you will work on the Training and Certifications team but work closely with other internal and/or external departments and resources.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following education, experience, competencies, and language skills:
Education, Competencies and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Media or related field preferred.
5+ years demonstrated excellence in content creation or editing.
Experience in a lead editing role, demonstrating discernment and judgement.
Successful in a dynamic environment with rapid development of content.
Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in priorities and tasks.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
Excellent technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong communication, analytical thinking, and critical thinking skills.
Experience in the development of presentations.
Skill in working with Microsoft Office 365 applications, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Smartsheets preferred.
Working knowledge of Articulate 360 and/or Adobe Captivate a plus.
Experience with basic website editing (HTML, CSS) preferred.
Language Skills (includes mental, verbal, writing skills)
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to grammar and writing etiquette is critical.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to Association management, Association members and other Staff Members of the Association.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, rules, policies, and procedures that may be furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ensures understanding by asking clarifying questions.
