Description: The American Land Title Association, a non-partisan, national trade association representing the land title and real estate settlement industry, seeks a candidate with career experience in information systems and technology to lead the acquisition, implementation, operation, maintenance, training, and support for ALTA’s network infrastructure, database systems, websites, user desktops, VoIP telephone system, office equipment, and conference room AV. The Director will work with ALTA and its affiliated entities (ALTA Registry, ALTA’s Land Title Institute, ALTA Good Deeds Foundation, TAN, and TIPAC) to make technology tools and resources available to support ongoing operations and strategic priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and coordinate a team of direct reports and vendors including:
Data Operations Manager
Data and Information Technology Support Assistant
Managed Services Provider
Association Management Software Provider
Database Development & Integration Provider
Oversee Network Infrastructure
Coordinate system design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades
Track network performance and uptime; fully address exceptions
Ensure effective system security including virus and malware threat protection
Ensure backups occur as scheduled and can be restored effectively
Oversee Database Systems and Customer-Facing Technology
AMS operation and data schema, plus data warehouse structure and design
In-house integration with accounting software and third-party integrations
Electronic publication distribution, marketing email distribution, and community platform
Direct User Resources, Training, and Support
Oversee user equipment acquisition and deployment
Coordinate user training on computer equipment, database systems, websites, office applications, office equipment, telephones, virtual meetings, and conference room capabilities
Coordinate ongoing training opportunities to enhance user knowledge
Oversee support ticketing assignments, troubleshooting, and resolution
Establish and Maintain Websites
Secure new domain registrations
Track performance and uptime; fully address exceptions
Maintain understanding of relevant website programming languages
Oversee Telephone System and Office Equipment Maintenance
VoIP telephone systems
Multi-function machines for print, copy, scan, fax
Conference room AV
Set Policies and Maintain Documentation
Establish and maintain enterprise documentation including network diagrams, application dependencies, and both in-house and third-party integrations
Maintain policy manuals for Technical Staff, Users, and Remote Users
Maintain a Business Continuity Plan
Maintain knowledgebase of business processes and how-to documentation
Oversee Business Analysis and Requirements Documentation
Work with staff teams, users, and vendors to analyze and document requirements for development of features, functionality, reports, and queries
Perform light project management
Manage Equipment and Inventory
Maintain equipment inventory for all hardware and office equipment
Maintain tracking system for loaned equipment (e.g., mobile hot spots)
Coordinate mobile office setup and equipment for off-site meetings and events
Provide Compliance and Annual Review Support
Coordinate periodic PCI Compliance review and PEN Testing
Manage compliance inventory for application and user seat licenses
Collaborate with finance staff during annual operations review and address recommendations in final report
Budget, Financial, and Legal Responsibilities
Develop annual budget for technology and information systems
Review and approve technology-related invoices for payment
Engage in monthly review of budget performance with finance staff
Develop annual proposal for staffing and align with HR budget
Coordinate with general counsel to review and recommend formal agreements for technology products and services
Maintain repository of executed contracts and agreements with technology vendors; track contract term dates
Contribute to ALTA Member Engagement Groups
Contribute technical knowledge, expertise, and insight to ALTA membership publications and groups including the Technology Community and Information Security Work Group

Knowledgeable about:
Server operating systems and user account administration for Microsoft Windows and Linux; Active Directory; Microsoft Exchange; Cisco routers, ASA Firewalls, Wireless Access points, and Switches; Sophos VPN; Polycom Phone systems; and Dell Server Architecture
Desktops, laptops, monitors, peripherals, tablets, mobile devices, VoIP telephony systems
Peripheral office equipment including printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, and multi-function machines
Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe products
Relational database systems, AMS or CRM products with eCommerce capabilities, and financial software systems
Windows website hosting applications including IIS, MSSQL, MySQL, and ColdFusion
SQL code, Views, Stored Procedures, etc.
Server side website development languages including PHP, .NET, and (ideally) ColdFusion
Client side website development languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
WordPress publishing and troubleshooting
Web domains, domain registration, secure socket layer certificates, and site security verification certification
