Position Summary:
The Clinical and Practice Affairs Division of the Society of interventional Radiology is growing! We are looking for two associates for the medical billing and practice operations teams. A key component of the roles will be to monitor and analyze the proposed regulatory or payer policies that impact interventional practices. The associates will gain valuable experience through working with other medical associations, business coalitions and patient groups with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with representatives of payers and other stakeholders that develop coverage and payment policies that impact the delivery of interventional radiology services.
Maintain and expand network with other health and medical organizations and coalitions that address private sector and workforce issues.
Develop reports and/or dashboards to monitor program and operational performance from different data sets.
Proactively identify key issues in IR practice settings and build resources to strengthen those areas.
Develop, and implementing key organizational processes for building practice expense sheets, including proper pricing allocation for equipment, staffing time, physician time, and service time.
Secondary Functions and Responsibilities
The staff liaison will work with the chair to assure the business of the committee is accurately recorded and placed on the appropriate agenda(s) of the appropriate oversight committee, council, or Board. Staff liaison will develop and maintain knowledge of the committee’s area of expertise and work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers.
Collaborates with the other staff Liaisons to assure that committees have the necessary background materials to support their work, as defined in meeting agendas and minutes. This may include ad hoc data searches for volunteers and staff.
Provide overall staffing and liaison services to assigned council, committees, and task forces in conjunction with the chairs of these organizational groups. This includes drafting meeting agendas, coordinating meetings and conference calls, drafting programs/strategies to be discussed on the agenda, drafting, and distributing summation reports, tracking follow-ups, assisting with developing and monitoring budgets, and ensuring annual reports are complete.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding of revenue cycle, payment structures, budget process, and credentialing requirements (non-competes and state practice limitations).
Project scoping
Development, application, and documentation of analytic methods
Data scrubbing and validation
Ability to communicate analytic results visually and verbally.
Report formatting and visualization.
Communication: understanding and follow through of complex instructions. Interpersonal skills
Organizational skills: ability to consistently work with multiple projects and priorities, a keen eye for detail.
Computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on interpretation of statistical output appropriate for a variety of audiences
Education and Experience:
2+ years related experience with either a radiology practice or a medical office, health care and/or medical association environment
Experience with coding and physician reimbursement
An understanding of medical billing coding including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, DRGs, etc.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Small, fast paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with internal staff and physician members/board via phone, in person, email and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Some travel required.
