The National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) is searching for a Development Manager to join our growing team at the national headquarters in Metro-Atlanta. This person will lead the organization’s efforts to grow and develop membership and increase revenue through sponsorships, affinity relationships, advertising, and contributions for the strategic priorities of the NAEC, including education, certification, trade show and conference events.
The right individual will be a dynamic collaborator, responsible for developing strong relationships with new and existing members and sponsorship prospects to expand the NAEC mission. This position will report to the Deputy Director. Full-time position with benefits. Virtual or in-office. Some travel required (approximately 25%)
Key Priorities
Emphasis on raising sponsorship revenue and identifying possible member-benefit providers to enter into affinity relationships
Increase membership by reaching out and marketing the benefits to new prospects, which includes cold calling and outreach to lapsed members
Continuous outreach and relationship building with current members and partners to increase retention and satisfaction
Identify leads, facilitate meetings, and when appropriate, negotiate or facilitate the negotiation by others of partnerships with organizations and businesses
Work collaboratively to plan and develop an integrated non-dues revenue program to benefit NAEC
Promote member services and affinity programs as part of outreach activities
Record, track and update all outreach in member database
Work with the Communications Department to create effective sales partnership proposals, membership recruitment and retention materials
Perform activities as NAEC brand ambassador at conferences and events
Perform other duties as assigned
Skill Requirements
Demonstrated experience with sponsorship sales, member recruiting and retention efforts
Previous experience implementing successful membership growth and retention strategies
Proven track record and demonstrated ability of generating non-dues revenue from sponsorships, advertising, affinity relationships, etc.
Proactive, self-starter who takes initiative
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly learn all aspects of the vertical transportation industry
Ability to network effectively in a professional social setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Computer literacy in database management and applicable software
Possess intermediate-level skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong oral and written communications skills and ability to persuade across different mediums
Work under minimal supervision
Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
