Position Summary: This is a senior-level position that establishes the educational content strategy, the development, execution and evaluation of the Association’s existing and future global learning initiatives including virtual learning and executive education programs to maximize value delivery to members through all programming and events offered by Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA). Additionally, this position drives alignment of that Central strategy with the chapter and regional programming planned by volunteer leaders and committees and serves as head of the central events & corporate programs department. At the broadest level this role:
Contributes to the strategic planning for the Association with a specific focus on educational strategy, content programming and a leadership development value promise that aligns with the HBA brand “united force for change.” Ensures educational strategy and tactics remain relevant and of high-value to membership.
Collaborates across the staff and volunteer teams to effectively and efficiently implement the educational strategy by way of Central’s programing and events.
Establishes the resources and resource model required to support implementation of the strategy spanning staff and member volunteers in local and global committee structures.
Provides investment recommendations and supports the creation of business cases to accelerate educational offering goals and objectives.
Pursues potential educational and programming partnerships and alliances which help accelerate the achievement of the association’s mission.
Detailed position responsibilities
HBA Central-led conferences and events
Defines the strategy, and sets event goals and objectives in alignment with the strategic plan including focus, theme, program framework and participant experience.
Defines policies and procedures for speaker selection and contracting. As needed, establishes, manages and leverages volunteer content committees and speaker selection. Orchestrates the request for, vetting and selection of speakers ensuring a sufficiently broad and diverse outreach to relevant and attractive ideas, topics and names.
Collaborates on event promotion strategies with the marketing department;
Innovation and implementation
Ongoing innovation of educational portfolio with specific attention to audience segments and revenue generation. Pilots and implements ideas for new programs and educational offerings aligning with the united force for change brand.
Collaborates with the engagement and satisfaction center to effectively collect, and then leverage, customer input with regards to educational programming needs and priorities.
Ownership of a learning management system (LMS) including strategy development, launch and sustainability (e.g. content curation, course development, revision and marketing strategies).
Resource management and operational efficiency
Directs the education and central events planning team and manages associated financials and budget as well as investment business cases.
Establishes and ensures compliance with speaker honoraria standards and policy; ensures compliance with copyright regulations.
Introduces new technologies and/or applications which improve attendee experience and/or streamline operational requirements and resources.

Experience requirements: Experience in a non-profit professional association setting is highly desirable with five or more years of experience working in the professional development area and conferences. Must possess a unique balance of technical depth, business knowledge, project management and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
Strategic and operational planning; budgeting and P&L management
Developing leadership programs for business professionals
Developing adult education and instructional design for both live and virtual environments
Ability to create, build, execute and expand effective certificate programs using a LMS
Managing and working with virtual teams
Working with and through volunteer leaders and committees
Experience in the identification and implementation of technology solutions to support adult learning and content delivery
