The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is looking for an energetic, hard working Membership Specialist to join our team in Arlington Heights, IL! BASIC FUNCTION As part of the ASPS Membership department, focus on domestic (the US and Canada) membership recruitment, retention and engagement strategies with minor overlap into global membership. Responsible for logistical planning and execution of activities expanding ASPS/PSF domestic membership initiatives. Provides services to domestic members, participates in U.S. society meetings and facilitates the application process for all membership categories, with direct responsibility for domestic markets. Interacts with multiple ASPS departments specifically with the Member Services Center (MSC), the Executive Office, Industry Relations, Marketing, Business Technology, Education and Meetings staff. Attends Annual Meeting and other ASPS meetings and symposia to help support programs and facilitate recruitment and retention of ASPS members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Responsible for the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns to increase membership and member retention for targeted segments, such as Active membership, Candidate for Active membership, Fellows, Residents, Senior Residents, Medical Students and Affiliate members.
- Facilitates member communications for new member mailings, candidate elevations, surgical facility accreditation, dues & ballots and member engagement. As needed, manages and inventories the critical membership materials. Coordinates ordering and production of needed materials with internal departments and external vendors.
- Develops and implements strategies for increasing resident recruitment. Coordinates resident engagement and cultivates relationship to facilitate transition from resident to candidate when appropriate.
- Liaisons with MSC on membership processes, data quality projects (Aptify), including development of special views in database (Aptify).
- Manages booth space at meetings/conferences. Plans and implements pre-event marketing to increase visibility and attendance. Works with external departments and partners to assure marketing goals are met.
- Creates quantitative analysis and dashboards of membership statistics and reports using Aptify.
- Develops web content for membership-related pages on www.plasticsurgery.org, working closely with Communications on design and production.
- Collaborates with the Marketing team on design and production of the membership marketing collateral such as membership kit, residents kit, senior resident mailings, ASPS special offerings and ASPS booth display and booth materials.
- Develops and coordinates ongoing social media campaigns within targeted member segments for recruitment and member engagement.
- Assists with special projects as needed including initiatives of the Membership Committee.
- This position requires domestic travel (3 to 5 times per year).
