The Director of Global Events is a strategic and innovative leader responsible for designing, executing, and evaluating Sigma Nursing’s global events portfolio. With a mission to advance nursing excellence worldwide, this role plays a critical part in fostering community, delivering impactful experiences, and enhancing Sigma’s reputation on the global stage.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Global Events will lead the planning and execution of conferences, workshops, and virtual events, ensuring alignment with Sigma’s strategic goals. This is a unique opportunity to shape world-class events that inspire, educate, and connect nursing professionals across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Visionary Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive global events strategy that aligns with Sigma’s mission and strategic objectives.
Innovative Growth: Identify emerging trends, new technologies, and opportunities to enhance event impact and attendee engagement.
Global Perspective: Expand Sigma’s reach by curating events that resonate with diverse audiences and promote international collaboration.
Event Design and Execution
High-Impact Events: Lead the planning and execution of conferences, workshops, virtual events, and other signature programs.
Seamless Delivery: Oversee all logistical aspects, including venue selection, vendor management, budget control, and risk mitigation.
Exceptional Experiences: Ensure a high standard of quality and attendee satisfaction through innovative programming, thoughtful design, and flawless execution.
Collaboration and Engagement
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, membership, and operations, to ensure cohesive event branding and messaging.
Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, partners, and vendors to enhance event success and financial sustainability.
Member-Centric Focus: Engage with Sigma members and stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into event planning.
Leadership and Team Development
Inspire Excellence: Lead and mentor a team of event professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
Drive Results: Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics to ensure team success.
Global Network: Develop a network of trusted international partners to support Sigma’s global events.
Metrics and Analysis
Measure Success: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of events and identify areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze attendee feedback and industry trends to refine future events and elevate their impact.
Financial Stewardship: Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery without compromising quality.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, hospitality, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation required.
Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in global event planning and management, preferably within a non-profit or association environment.
Proven track record of designing and executing large-scale conferences, workshops, and virtual events.
Experience managing international events is strongly preferred.
