The Journals Publications Group is responsible for the timely review of all manuscripts submitted to AASLD journals and the accurate and timely publication of AASLD journals. To that end, the Publications Coordinator will serve as administrative support for the medical journals Hepatology, Liver Transplantation, Clinical Liver Disease, and Hepatology Communications and assist in the administrative duties of publications department. The Publications Coordinator will also provide support for all AASLD public policy efforts, including the organization of meetings and conference calls.
Database entry of submitted manuscripts
Communicate with editors regarding new manuscript submissions, reviewer invitations, overdue manuscripts, rebuttals, and invited articles
Communicate with authors regarding missing materials, authors agreements, and other updates on peer review manuscripts
Assist authors with their submissions and questions
Follow up with overdue reviewers
Serves as backup to Managing Editors of HEPATOLOGY and, Liver Transplantation, Clinical Liver Disease, and Hepatology Communications
Communications and Public Policy Administration
Provide administrative support to the department and for the medical journals and public policy efforts.
Assist other department staff with various projects as needed
Assist the Chief Communications Officer with public policy projects as needed
Coordinate Liver Capitol Hill Day
Train newly hired Editorial Assistant(s)
Minimum of three (3) year's administrative or relative work experience working with a membership association. Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, association management databases, strong organizational skills, ability to communicate clearly, analytical thinking ability, attention to detail, as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience.
