This is an entry-level professional position, reporting to the Director, IT Systems in which the incumbent is responsible for assisting with administering, supporting, and performance tuning multiple production environments across multiple data centers/providers, databases, and enterprise software while ensuring high levels of system stability, availability, and security. The incumbent will also assist with deploying software releases, maintaining non-production platforms, and documenting operational processes, network and system architectures.
As directed by the Director, IT Systems, assist with administering, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring Windows and Linux systems environment and additional components including but not limited to IIS/Apache, SQL Server, database backup operations, and Active Directory in support of the IT architecture and business needs.
Assist the Director, IT Systems with planning, testing and deploying patches and upgrades to system hardware, software systems, subsystems and services, roles, and application components, and performs patch testing on all changes prior to installation.
Perform daily system and security monitoring to all production servers and applications, enterprise software like ticketing and Cisco systems, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server capacity/resources, systems and key processes, completion of scheduled jobs, and review system and application logs.
Detect, investigate, troubleshoot, and problem solve any service incidents and server/database/security/network related issues.
Perform routine cleanup, file archival and purge, server/data migration as necessary.
Write and maintain routine administrative tasks using a common scripting language.
Produce and maintain documentation related to architectures, hosting environments, processes and procedures, how-to guides, server/application implementation, configuration, and changes.
As directed by the Director, IT Systems perform off-hours maintenance and provide off-hours assistance for production applications and systems as needed.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or as necessary.
