The American Boiler Manufacturers Association is seeking a Membership & Engagement Manager to develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies, lead the facilitation and enhancement of our statistics programs and oversee the comprehensive review and update of our publications library. This newly created position reports directly to the President & CEO.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lead ABMA membership experience focusing on the recruitment of new members and satisfaction of current members which includes the following:
Membership dues invoicing process
Prospective member outreach
Onboarding new members
High Touch Membership Model – Tracking and reporting on progress
Creation and facilitation of member satisfaction survey
Administration of MemberClicks AMS system ensuring the association is maximizing features of the database side and working with the Marking Manager to ensure ABMA website is current. Tasks associated with this responsibility include:
Ensure database content is up-to-date and accurate
Accurate and timely entry of all payments
Tracking member outreach activities
Oversight of statistics program liaising with company data submitters ensuring reports are completed in timely manner and issues are addressed with a continuous focus on improving the process and enhancing the reports.
Oversight of ABMA Publications Library facilitating the review and revision of current library and creation of new publications including liaison with volunteers, vendors and staff.
Administration of financial duties including invoice and check preparation for President’s approval and signature.
Coordination of association documentation and ensuring information is correct with all vendors, partners and publications.
Participate in and support meetings and tradeshows as required.
Essential Job Qualifications
Strong desire and proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three years of relevant experience in developing, managing and executing growth strategies and constructing campaigns to recruit and engage new members/customers.
Minimum three years of experience with member retention that includes the ability to successfully promote programs, products and services to members along with gathering insights from members leading to association solutions for their challenges.
Must be motivated and willing to accept a challenge.
Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication and analytical skills required.
Strong planning, time-management and organizational skills.
Excellent presentation skills in front of an audience and meeting one-on-one with key stakeholders.
Experience working with a culturally diverse, international community.
Work experience in a small trade association is helpful.
Experience in working with Association Management Software (AMS), MemberClicks a plus.
Experience with trade associations preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to travel on occasion.
