The Vice President, Health Care Research will lead HAP’s efforts to use data and analytics to provide strategic thought leadership and proactive industry analysis to its members. The Vice President will continually assess the impact of current and emerging policies and market trends on its members. This leader will identify emerging health care market and policy scenarios as well as support HAP in the development of new policy and regulatory proposals to support member success in a changing environment. This leader will be comfortable serving as the face of HAP’s health care research initiatives and become highly visible among its members.
HAP, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is a statewide membership services organization that advocates for Pennsylvania acute and specialty care, primary care, sub-acute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve. It is widely acknowledged as one of the premier trade and advocacy organizations in both Pennsylvania and the nation.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
A Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or similar discipline.
A minimum of ten years in hospital economics, healthcare finance, policy research, or healthcare consulting experience.
A minimum of five years of supervisory experience leading a team.
Experience and in-depth knowledge of computer systems and demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), business intelligence tool Tableau, SPSS, mapping and database management applications.
Experience leading cross-functional data management programs involving the coordination with multiple stakeholders.
Experience supervising survey research analysis; designing and implementing analytic approaches are required.
Experience presenting both verbally and visually sophisticated analyses to a variety of audiences is required.
Expertise in making presentations to broad and diverse audiences.
Strong fluency in health policy issues including an understanding of the economics of healthcare. Familiarity with Pennsylvania’s healthcare environment is a plus.
An intellectual curiosity and passion for healthcare related data and its impact around shaping policy.
