The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association is seeking an Event Operations Manager to provide key program support to the Exposition Department in the areas of vendor and logistical management, as well as other SGIA Expo related programs. They must be able to function with minimal oversight, and travel multiple times a year (10%) including overnight travel of up to 12 days. The candidate must display the ability to make productive use of time under pressure and the ability to use good judgement and initiative. This position will serve as a primary operational contact for the production of the annual Exposition and requires the ability to organize projects simultaneously and keep on schedule and budget. The candidate must have excellent people interaction skills, verbal and written communication skills. The right candidate is flexible, a self-starter with project management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality administration or a related field
Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in event management.
Proven experience managing the full life cycle of meetings and events with minimal supervision.
Association work experience preferred.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint required. Experience working in Microsoft 365 a plus.

Experience working with venues and vendors to facilitate events.
Experience in forecasting and budgeting a plus
Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify and help negotiate vendor contracts.

Ability to collaborate with and facilitate ideas with internal departments.
Strong proofreading and editing skills for developing conference registration and logistical copy.
Ability to master new software programs easily is also required.
