The American Institute of Physics is seeking an Administrative Assistant/ Program Support Specialist to provide administrative and program support for the offices of the COO, Member Society Services, and Marketing & Communication. The ideal candidate will ensure that travel, meetings, calendar, reports, correspondence and all other office duties have appropriate follow-up, and are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Position will assist with oversight of projects and additional administrative support as needed. She/he will maintain a broad knowledge of activities throughout the organization, to facilitate smooth operations.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of administrative/program support experience desired; experience working in non-profit association preferred. Excellent oral/written communication and strong organizational skills required. Proficient using MS-Office and experience in customer database management are essential. Must present strong organizational and multitasking skills, with close attention to detail. Must have ability to take initiative and work independently under pressure of deadlines and with multiple simultaneous tasks. Must be able to handle confidential information.
