Reporting to the vice president for membership and marketing, the director of membership will develop and direct the execution of an overall national recruitment and retention plan to maximize membership growth potential with accountability for organizational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and implement the messaging and data strategy to recruit and retain membership.
Administer membership policies and standard operating procedures as directed.
Provide superior customer service and support for the association's membership.
Review, evaluate and analyze membership trends, needs, and participation to track and grow enrollment, retention and involvement.
Develop and manage process for regularly identifying member and potential member needs.
Work with staff to develop marketing, communication, and advertising materials that better describe the value of membership.
Develop short and long-term member retention strategies.
Provide oversight for the implementation of marketing initiatives supporting the annual membership recruitment & retention plan, including tracking and analysis.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing or related field
5-7 years of membership marketing and/or member relations/reporting management experience required, preferably in an association environment
Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
Research, analysis, and evaluation skills
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage confidential information
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Reports to the vice president for membership and marketing; supervises member services associate; works closely with other CMAA staff.
Has regular contact with CMAA members, industry representatives and national volunteers.
