CRS is a seeking an entrepreneurial Sr. Manager of Events and Meetings that will help support and oversee current events and leadership meetings while also playing a key role in helping develop and execute in-person strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a creative, enthusiastic team player who is eager to take ownership of all phases of meeting and event planning to advance Council initiatives. The individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects related to planning meetings and events including managing support vendors while developing new capabilities, implementing improved process, enhancing cross–team communications and leading cross functional planning and execution across teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, business, and project management skills.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
Create and execute meeting proposals, budgets, and plans that support CRS goals and objectives.
Collaborate closely with CRS Teams and coordinate initiatives across departments.
Produce RFP documents for potential venues, conduct site visits and negotiate venue contracts for annual meetings (Sell-a-Bration), workshops, and regional programs.
Produce and develop reports for senior management and departments as needed to help with the management, marketing, and performance of events.
Oversee and manage all aspects of events including setup of the event in appropriate systems, on-site meeting execution, registration, speaker management, AV, food, and beverage set-up/break-down.
Recommend, manage, and oversee meeting support vendors.
Review all event contracts for CRS and states volunteer groups.
Produce RFPs for site selection and recommendations for events and meetings.
Develop and manage budgets and projections that support CRS goals and objectives.
Oversee post-event reviews and maintain historical information.
Research best practices and industry trends and apply to CRS events.
Offer and implement suggestions for improvements.
Execute other tasks and duties relevant to the position, as they emerge.
Experience and Qualifications
BA/BS or equivalent experience in Meeting Planning; CMP preferred.
Minimum of 5 years prior event management experience required.
Previous association experience strongly preferred.
Extensive experience in developing and managing budgets.
Extensive knowledge and experience in planning, development, and execution of strategic annual plan.
Experience in developing proposals.
Familiarity with event management and speaker management software.
Ability to travel a few times a year.
