We seek a Director of Membership to build LeadingAge’s membership capacity nationally and in collaboration with our State Partners, under the leadership of the Vice President of Member Engagement. The Director of Membership will develop and direct the execution of an overall national recruitment plan to maximize membership growth potential with accountability for organizational objectives. The Director will work with State Partner organizations and internal staff to enhance recruitment, retention and engagement efforts.
Position requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, public relations, sociology or gerontology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Plus, a minimum of 5 years of sales and program/project management experience in a membership recruitment/liaison/leadership capacity. Prior aging services experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability to remain current on issues affecting aging services is essential.
Other requirements include demonstration of proven track record generating sales and meeting quotas; must be a team player with strong business management knowledge, including ability to manage multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner; must possess strong leadership, customer service, negotiation and coalition-building skills; must have successful track record exercising excellent judgment, integrity and creative problem solving; must possess excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills, including the ability to influence, foster cooperation and maintain effective relationships with members, state association executives, staff and other key leaders and stakeholders; must possess moderate to expert experience with association management software, preferably Salesforce; high proficiency with MS Office Suite; and knowledge of CRM databases and other web-based applications. Commitment to serving LeadingAge membership and to working closely with state partners is essential. Must be able to travel overnight to meetings and conferences both locally and nationally.
