The Director of Membership oversees the execution of the full membership lifecycle and the association’s member database.
Develops campaigns and programs to successfully recruit, retain and recapture members.
Implements new member onboarding and all welcoming activities to improve retention.
Manages the governance and nominating process; and tracking board/committee members.
Works with a third-party vendor to produce the annual membership directory and buyers guide.
Oversees and manages NSSGA’s internal association management system, Abila netForum Enterprise, liaison to third-party vendor and ensures that staff receive the necessary training.
Ensures the integrity of all membership data and reporting functions. Provides ongoing data collection and analysis of program and membership trends to support strategic initiatives.
Works closely with accounting to ensure accurate information management and reporting.
Assists in sponsorship solicitation for a variety of NSSGA events, expand current relationships and cultivate new ones.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with focus on membership or data management.
A hands-on understanding of membership databases to include 3-4 years in a management role.
Experience in managing association database systems is required. Experience with Abila’s netForum Enterprise is preferred.
Membership acquisition and retention experience in an association or nonprofit membership environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills required
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills imperative
An attention to detail in the customer service function and manage multiple priorities
Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications
