The Membership Associate position provides operational support to SNA’s membership programs and activities, with a focus on growing and maintaining the School District Owned Membership program. The associate works with state and national membership processors on membership records to help maintain database integrity. Position supports a wide range of operational activities that increase and strengthen member services and increase retention. Serves as tertiary back up to the Service Center including phone and general email inquiries from members
School District Owned Membership (SDM):
Administers the daily operations of the School District Owned Membership Program including the renewal, transfer and data update processes.
Serves as primary staff contact for existing SDM Administrators and assists with the onboarding of new SDMs and administrators.
Working with Membership Manager and Information Technology Department, develops new ways to creatively streamline process to make SDM more user friendly and intuitive for members.
Works with Membership Manager to grow SDM program in order to grow overall membership and ensure membership stability.
Increase member retention levels by reaching out to SDMs in their grace period before membership expires.
Membership Retention and Data/ Information Integrity:
Provides program logistics support to the Star Club Breakfast at ANC and the yearend close out processes.
Uses membership database to retrieve and enter data, run reports and rosters and trouble shoot problems.
Supports the maintenance of membership information in Aptify database, including national dues, state dues, state affiliate contact and preference information as well as up to date contact information for membership processors and chairs.
Assists in planning and implementing changes that impact membership administration based on recommendations from Board of Directors and Delegate Assembly actions.
With the Membership Manager, maintains close, working relationships with state membership processors and chairs, assisting with concerns, issues, information requests and updates to records.
Assists technology team on resolving issues that arise from the Join Online or My Account sections on the website.
Coordinates the monthly membership operational emails including the renewal and expired email blasts etc.
Provides tertiary back up support in the Service Center for telephone and Front Desk coverage.
Stays current on all SNA programs, services and materials to ensure accurate and updated information is provided to callers.
EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Three years or more of experience providing support to member programs and services in in a nonprofit or association, preferably in a nonprofit membership organization.
Demonstrated experience working independently to administer membership program operations.
Demonstrated experience providing program customer service in a fast-paced environment with large workloads.
Demonstrated experience working in large databases, identifying trends from program data, analyzing data and making recommendations.
Demonstrated skills entering data and retrieving information, identifying trends and providing analysis from program data.
Strong drafting, proofing and grammar skills for routine correspondence, writing emails and other communications requiring minimal editing.
Demonstrated skills in multi-tasking while managing a demanding workload to support daily and long-term assignments.
Excellent customer service, verbal and interpersonal skills with proactive approach to providing telephone and email support, both internally and externally.
Demonstrated success as a team member and ability to support other members of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify a problem, research how to address or solve and bring forward suggestions.
Strong workload organizational skills with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, balance long- and short-term assignments, and meet deadlines.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to organizational change.
