APWA is searching for a team player to join our Web Services team. A successful Application Support Specialist will bring a technical customer service approach to support our internal staff and external members and vendors and work well in a collaborative team environment.
The Application Support Specialist provides technical support for the APWA website, association software and in-house developed applications and tools. This position performs internal QA testing and validates configuration or programming changes to verify compatibility with or impacts on all APWA software(s); monitors day to day production and test environments; performs installations and upgrades related to the association management system, creates written documentation and user resource manuals for developed web and software applications; evaluates new technology options with the web team and works with the business owner to review necessary business project requirements and builds solid test cases in Team Foundation Server.
A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related technology program with a minimum of three years experience working in a technical customer service and support role; some experience with identifying and writing business requirements as needed and end user training strongly preferred. Experience with association management software, Team Foundation Server, and working in an agile development environment is preferred.

Although originally chartered in the United States in 1937, APWA has roots in two predecessor groups that reach back to 1894, and has 63 chapters in North America, which includes eight chapters in Canada. The Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) or Association Canadienne des Travaux Publics, was founded in 1986, and is governed by an 8-member Board of Directors (one representative from each chapter in Canada). Members of CPWA are automatically members of APWA. A 17-member Board of Directors, all of whom are elected by Association members, governs APWA as a whole.
