The Web Developer works with key internal contacts to develop and execute modifications, enhancements and additions to MOAA’s CMS platform and other digital applications/products. Exercises broad discretion and independent judgment, advises internal customers and coordinates with external vendors as necessary. The incumbent reports to the Senior Digital Program Manager.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Implement and customize CMS such as Ektron, Epi, WordPress, etc.
Maintain, modify and/or enhance digital applications.
Draft specifications, architecting, building and testing solutions.
Define development standards, determining best technology approach vs buy decisions and open source applications.
Works with the Senior Digital Program Manager and Web Project Manager to implement projects.
Skills, Attributes, Knowledge Required:
Strength in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving web application issues.
Well organized with the capability to manage various projects addressing a variety of association requirements.
Strong planning, management, negotiation, and communications skills essential.
Ability to work productively with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and exercising independent judgment.
Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups such as writers, editors, designers, and programmers.
Professional Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of technical development experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience using Microsoft technologies including .NET framework ASP.NET, MVC, Razor, C#, and SQL or TSQL
Solid working experience using Microsoft Visual Studio
Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
Strong understanding of relational database concepts
Advanced knowledge of EPiServer 7.5+
Experience writing Web Services (WCF / Web API)
Experience integrating third party solutions through Web Services or other messaging frameworks
Basic knowledge of IIS and setting up local sites
Experience with Git and version control
Understanding of Inversion of Control (IoC) and Dependency Injection (DI)
Ektron CMS experience
