Provides management and support for research and clinical care activities of the society related to evidence-based medicine (EBM). Works with individual members, committees and staff in the development and execution of clinical guidelines; project clinical recommendations, EBM training, clinical care issues; research activities; scientific publications. Manages and acts as sole liaison for the following committees: Evidence-Based Guideline Development Committee, scientific projects for NASS Sections. Works with department director to liaise with other committees as needed (Patient Safety, etc).
Experience with and understanding of evidence-based medicine and EBM clinical recommendation processes and clinical quality improvement. Strong project-management, analytical, writing and communication skills. Must be a team player with ability to work with multiple parties. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to adapt to a variable workload and function in a deadline-oriented environment. Strong research skills. Ability to understand and interpret the political arena relative to scientific issues and working with staff and volunteers. Familiarity with PubMed resources.
Manual Skills Necessary
Computer literacy is essential, (proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites/360, Endnote, Internet); CRM knowledge a plus; average to heavy computer usage. Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard.
Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs occasionally when preparing shipments, organizing inventory, or staffing programs.
Experience working in a health care setting; health care administration; or medical society/association management or related scientific setting.
