Established in 2002 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the Spinal Research Foundation (SRF) is the only patient-centered, non-profit organization dedicated to improving spinal health care through research, education, and patient advocacy. Our primary goal is to empower patients with knowledge and hope. While the main office is in Northern Virginia, the Foundation comprises a national network of patients and 26 distinguished spine clinics that are SRF’s research partners.
The network allows physicians and surgeons from across the country to collaborate in collecting patient spinal care data in order to evaluate treatment outcomes and prove what works. In the past decade, the expansion of medical knowledge and discovery of new technologies have promoted remarkable improvements both in the diagnosis of spinal disorders and in the range of treatment options – surgical and non-operative.
Today, there are more effective treatment options available with greater long-term success than ever before. The Foundation strives to harness this knowledge to educate patients, physicians, and payers as to the best and most effective spinal health care treatments available.
